Oral Irrigation Can Save Your Dental Health…

February 4th, 2010

HydroFlossCI find it to be surprising the number of people I hear from and the benefits they get from oral irrigation. However, these folks are not just using any old oral irrigator.

Irrigators are not all created equal. Some have a special technology that allows them to reduce more plaque build up than others.

The principle behind reducing plaque is very simple. Actually, reducing it isn’t actually the goal, although reducing it does help.

You see, plaque is a very mundane term for something that is a bit more insidious when explained. Plaque is a alive! It is a living biofilm made up of a number of substances, the worst for us being bacteria.

The plaque creates a problem for us human beings. Since it is a film, it produces a more or less airtight space. It is in this space that something terrible happens. Some bacteria, when they do not have oxygen, revert to a form of metabolism called ‘anaerobic’.

This form of metabolism is harmful to the human host because of the toxic byproducts that come from it. These acidic, toxic substances can harm our dental enamel and our gum tissue.

This explains the reason why you have been told to brush and floss daily. Trouble is, that may not be enough. The proof is in what dental health care professional and public health workers know. Statistics say that up to 75% of people have some form of gum disease in their mouth right now!

It is staggering when you think about it. Most people brush, fewer floss, but even if you do both, you may be headed for trouble.

Gum disease can lead to tooth loss and researchers suspect that it can lead to many systemic diseases such as heart attacks and stroke.

Interesting Story Involving the Hydro Floss…

December 11th, 2009

This is the story of an interesting call that I received. I

I have been selling the Hydro Floss at the Toothy Grins Store for a few months and I receive a call from a man in Michigan. He just heard about the Hydro Floss from his dental hygienist a few days prior.

However, the REALLY interesting part is that this gentleman works in public health! He said he has two good friends that he went to college with. One is an oral surgeon and the other is a periodontist.

After he brought up the Hydro Floss to them. They both said they personally use it. I thought that was interesting and telling all by itself.

But what he said next really got me thinking. He said that the oral surgeon also uses the Pocket Pal Jet Tips as a PREVENTIVE measure to protect her gum health!

I thought I would share that interesting tidbit because I think it reveals a new secret to using the hydro floss that many have not thought of.

Hydro Floss User Insight…

November 14th, 2009

Since I have begun selling the Hydro Floss oral Irrigator at the Toothy Grins Store, I have had the good fortune to speak to many people.

A very interesting conversation occurred this past week. A gentleman from Minnesota called me and we had quite the conversation.

He was looking to purchase a hydro floss for his own use. I typically ask people if they have used one before and I have grown use to people telling me how much they like the hydro floss and how it has helped them personally.

This time, a slightly different story came forth. He was initially told about the Hydro Floss by his hygienist. This is not unusual at all, many dentists and hygienists recommend the Hydro Floss to their patients.

But he took things one step further. He has two friends, one is a periodontist and one is an oral surgeon and he asked them both about this device. He was surprised to hear that they both personally use the hydro floss.

But the oral surgeon did something a little differently and it was an eye opener for me. It is one of those moments when the ‘light bulb’ goes on.

She also uses the Pocket Pal Jet Tips. This surprised me because I had believed the Pocket Pal’s were only needed for people who had 5 to 6 mm pockets. Well, you can bet this person, an expert on oral health has gums that are in good shape. SHE uses the pocket pals as a preventive measure.

I hadn’t considered this before. While the regular tips are made to be used at right angles to the teeth and gums. The pocket pals are used to shoot water directly into the pockets.

So, I thought something like, “It makes sense to use them to maintain / improve the health of gum tissue”. Since that conversation, I’ve been using the pocket pal jet tip after my regular use of the Hydro Floss and I think it is a good practice for me personally! Getting a Hydro Floss In Canada…

July 15th, 2009

Hi Zolie,

Unfortunately, the offer does not extend to Canada.

I do not know if you can order from another retailer in the US to Canada, but if you can, try this:

http://tobeinformed.com/gum-disease-products-united-states/

I think the irrigator is one of the best and most potent weapons you can use.

This is available internationally: http://tobeinformed.com/blog/1405/
You can order this essential oil blend from Canada, no problems.

However, I would not rely on the essential oils alone. They can be helpful, the irrigator is more powerful in my opinion.

Please let me know if I can answer any more questions or just give me a call at 913-269-6952

Hi David.
Thanks for your helpful emails. I am thinking about ordering the irrigator.
1. Does it ship to Canada?
2. Does the present coupon work here as well?
3. One of the items in the coupon is free shipping; does that apply to Canada?
4. Am I correct that all the coupon items with check marks in the ad are included with the irrigator?
Thank you,
Zolie

Lynn’s View of the HydroFloss and My Work…

July 8th, 2009

David,

I went to the periodontist and he wanted to do laser surgery. I purchased the hydrofloss along with the mouthwash and toothpaste from Dr. Katz. My gums look good and feel great. (My gums never were red or swollen and they did not bleed, that is why I was dubious about the surgery).

Of course I was not going to have the surgery because I heard from another dentist that it could cause more damage than what it is worth.

I called my perodontics office and ask if there was an alternative to sugery. They told me that if my pockets were more that 3 mm that I could not clean the pockets myself. I would need a dental hygienist to clean them every 3 months and that my pockets probably would not get any smaller but the hygienist could keep them much cleaner than I could.

They did not tell me about the hydrofloss but I heard it from a friend of mine who is a dental hygienist. That is how I learned about you.

Isn’t it strange they don’t want to tell you about using the hydrofloss?

I’m using the hydrofloss and it works great. I believe my pockets are much smaller and I am going to keep track of the sizes when I get my teeth cleaned next week.

Thanks for all the information about gum disease.

Lynn [last name omitted for confidentiality]

When Do You Use The Hydro Floss?

June 11th, 2009

Question:

David,

I hope you received my last email. I did get your book and I am using the hydrofloss. It works terrific and your book is great.

I have a question. Do you brush you teeth first and then use the hydrofloss? I have been using the hydrofloss first then flossing & brushing.

Thanks again for your book.

Lynn

Answer:

Hi Lynn,

Great question. I use the Hydro Floss once, then I brush and floss and use the perio-aid and then I hydrofloss again it again…

Since brushing and flossing are for breaking up the plaque, you want that bacteria out. That is why I hydrofloss again at the end.

Once the plaque and bacteria is loosened up, you don’t want it floating around in your mouth. Therefore, I also use the hydrofloss at the end of my routine.

Hope that answered it.

David

Lynn’s Reply:

Thanks for replying so fast. That sounds like a good way to do it. I know my mouth feels so refreshed after using the hydrofloss.

Lynn
